We are an engineering consulting firm based in Longueuil, specializing in building mechanics (ventilation, plumbing, heating). We primarily work on multi-family residential projects (3 to 20 storeys), as well as commercial and light institutional projects.
As part of our growth, we are seeking a mechanical engineer who is eager to be involved in a variety of projects and to work within a collaborative and dynamic team.
The mechanical engineer plays a central role in the design, validation, and approval of mechanical systems for projects. He/she works closely with designers, drafters, and project managers to ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project schedules.
Design and validate ventilation, plumbing, and heating systems;
Master and apply applicable codes and standards (Québec Construction Code, relevant ASHRAE standards);
Analyze and validate mechanical design calculations;
Review the quality, consistency, and compliance of mechanical drawings and specifications;
Sign and seal drawings and specifications in accordance with OIQ requirements;
Review shop drawings;
Provide technical support and feedback to designers and drafters;
Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings;
Conduct site visits and prepare the required reports;
Ensure compliance with the professional and ethical obligations of the OIQ.
Ensure regulatory compliance and the technical quality of mechanical projects;
Actively collaborate in the design and optimization of mechanical systems;
Support the project manager in technical decision-making;
Participate in the continuous improvement of internal methods and standards;
Represent the mechanical discipline with clients and partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering (building mechanics);
Excellent knowledge of standards and codes applicable to building mechanics;
Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite;
Knowledge of Revit (an asset);
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Strong organizational skills and professional rigor;
Excellent communication skills in French (functional English, an asset);
