Mechanical Engineer

We are an engineering consulting firm based in Longueuil, specializing in building mechanics (ventilation, plumbing, heating). We primarily work on multi-family residential projects (3 to 20 storeys), as well as commercial and light institutional projects.

As part of our growth, we are seeking a mechanical engineer who is eager to be involved in a variety of projects and to work within a collaborative and dynamic team.

The mechanical engineer plays a central role in the design, validation, and approval of mechanical systems for projects. He/she works closely with designers, drafters, and project managers to ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project schedules.

  • Design and validate ventilation, plumbing, and heating systems;

  • Master and apply applicable codes and standards (Québec Construction Code, relevant ASHRAE standards);

  • Analyze and validate mechanical design calculations;

  • Review the quality, consistency, and compliance of mechanical drawings and specifications;

  • Sign and seal drawings and specifications in accordance with OIQ requirements;

  • Review shop drawings;

  • Provide technical support and feedback to designers and drafters;

  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings;

  • Conduct site visits and prepare the required reports;

  • Ensure compliance with the professional and ethical obligations of the OIQ.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and the technical quality of mechanical projects;

  • Actively collaborate in the design and optimization of mechanical systems;

  • Support the project manager in technical decision-making;

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of internal methods and standards;

  • Represent the mechanical discipline with clients and partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;

  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering (building mechanics);

  • Excellent knowledge of standards and codes applicable to building mechanics;

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite;

  • Knowledge of Revit (an asset);

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

  • Strong organizational skills and professional rigor;

  • Excellent communication skills in French (functional English, an asset);
